Located in one of the best spots in Rio, one block from the world famous Ipanema beach, The Mango Tree is the latest addition to the range of hostels in Rio de Janeiro. Set up by a Brazilian former travel journalist, and an Australian with 10 years experience in the hospitality industry, we offer a relaxing place sleep, meet other travellers, and sip a chilled caipirinha. At The Mango Tree you will find the comforts of a guest house (sprung mattresses, linen sheets, towels) with the warm welcome and atmosphere of a backpacker hostel.
The Mango Tree is based in a newly renovated 1930’s colonial style house that has 8 double rooms ( 5 with en-suite, all air-conditioned ), 26 dorm beds, and all of the facilities to make your stay with us the most memorable of your trip.
We are a short walk away from the restaurants and bars of Ipanema and Copacabana, including the Garota de Ipanema (Girl From Ipanema) where the famous song was written.
Start each day by enjoying your breakfast outside in our covered dining area before heading out for a day of sightseeing, adventure sports, or simply lazing around on Ipanema beach, which is only 50 meters away. On returning, why not sit around the garden sipping on capirinhas, shoot a game of pool, or fall asleep in a hammock underneath the mango tree. Check your email on our free internet access, enjoy DVD's in the common room, or sit in the lobby and enjoy a game with your friends.
If it is a specific trip you are after such as Sugarloaf Mountain, Corcovado, hang gliding or a tour of a favela then talk to our helpful English-speaking staff whose job it is to make your entire stay in Rio everything you hoped it would be.

Come raggiungerci
The Mango Tree is 1 block from Ipanema Beach, and 80 metres from Posto 9. If you make your way to the corner of Prudente de Moraes and Vinicius de Moraes you will find the world famous Garota de Ipanema restaurant (Girl From Ipanema) where the song was written. From here walk 30 meters along Prudente de Moraes towards Copocabana and you will find us on your left.
To get here:
From the Rodoviaria Novo Rio take the Metro bus to Estacio station and then the Metro train to its final stop at Siqueira Campos (Copacabana) then get on the Metro bus to Praca General Osorio - this is the first stop in Ipanema. Walk down Rua Prudente de Moraes for a block and a half - the hostel will be on your right. Make sure you buy a integrated metro/bus ticket. Click Here for the Metro Rio website.
From the International Airport Tom Jobim take the Airport bus to Ipanema Beach and get off at Posto 9. Walk down Rua Vinicius de Moraes, turn right at Rua Prudente de Moraes, we are 30m on the right.

a) per preavvisi di 72 ore o più non si prevede alcuna penale. Tuttavia, ci può essere una politica più restrittiva. Contatta direttamente la struttura per verificare. In nessun caso, il deposito versato online è rimborsabile.
b) per preavvisi di 72 ore o meno o in caso di mancato arrivo alla struttura (no-show): se non altrimenti specificato, verrà addebitato l'importo pari alla prima notte a persona. In nessun caso potrà essere restituito il deposito.
Sia la struttura che i clienti riceveranno una notifica delle condizioni di cancellazione applicate via e-mail.
